About The Position

The Aquatics Stormwater Technician I is an entry-level field position responsible for learning and supporting all operational aspects of Foster Lake & Pond Management (FLPM). This role assists with aquatic management, stormwater maintenance, construction and repair services, preventative and corrective maintenance, and retail operations while developing the technical, operational, and communication skills necessary for long-term success. The Aquatics Stormwater Technician I is expected to uphold FLPM's Core Values and Vision, maintain a strong safety mindset, embrace continuous learning, and contribute positively to team culture and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and embody FLPM's Core Values within the first three months of employment.
  • Learn and support FLPM's Vision Statement within the first three months.
  • Read, understand, and sign the Employee Handbook within the first three months and consistently follow company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all FLPM safety policies and actively participate in scheduled safety meetings and training activities.
  • Represent FLPM professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Demonstrate progress and receive positive performance feedback while assisting with preventative maintenance services.
  • Support construction and repair projects while developing technical skills and field knowledge.
  • Assist retail operations and inventory-related activities as assigned.
  • Learn corrective maintenance procedures and demonstrate consistent improvement.
  • Become proficient in basic equipment inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures and complete all proficiency checklist requirements by the end of the first year.
  • Learn and perform facility maintenance responsibilities and complete all proficiency checklist requirements by the end of the first year.
  • Assist with pond, lake, and stormwater management projects as directed by supervisors and Project Managers.
  • Utilize company timekeeping software daily and accurately clock into assigned jobs.
  • Check and respond to Outlook emails daily during workdays.
  • Learn the company vehicle maintenance platform and become proficient in completing vehicle inspections within the first six months.
  • Learn and effectively utilize company HR software within the first three months.
  • Review and update the company calendar daily as needed.
  • Complete all required reports, inspections, records, and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
  • Successfully obtain the Stormwater Control Measure (SCM) Inspection and Maintenance Professional Certification within the first year of employment.
  • Successfully pass the North Carolina Aquatic Pesticide Applicator Examination within the first year of employment.
  • Attend at least one company-led training event annually.
  • Demonstrate initiative in developing technical, operational, and leadership skills.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, supervisors, and fellow FLPM team members.
  • Submit at least two pieces of feedback monthly through the company feedback and review platform.
  • Respond to company emails within two business days.
  • Respond to company texts and phone calls during working hours.
  • Complete self-check-ins, performance reviews, and all requested HR-related tasks by established deadlines.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and support team members in achieving company goals.
