Performs a variety of general, technical and specialized maintenance tasks on all City pools and splash pads. This includes pool cleaning, vacuuming, brushing, and skimming. The role involves operating, repairing, maintaining, and cleaning mechanical equipment for pool operation, including water filtration and chemical purification systems, with the ability to service and calibrate erosion feeders. Responsibilities also extend to operating, repairing, maintaining, and cleaning equipment for all splash pads. The technician will assist in determining and implementing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring pool equipment meets code specifications, and conducting walk-through inspections with necessary corrective actions. This role requires regulating water levels, testing water chemistry, and maintaining chemically balanced water per state codes, adjusting chemicals as needed. It also involves checking gauges, flow meters, and other equipment, backwashing filters, and assisting with facility maintenance including pumps, filters, and mechanical, construction, and electrical aspects. Diagnosing and repairing/replacing pool motors, pumps, mechanical seals, impellers, valves, gaskets, Vac Alerts, gauges, flow meters, pool light bulbs, and heaters, as well as VFDs, is crucial. Facility repairs, including tiles, line hoses, valves, benches, and other surfaces, are also part of the duties. The position is responsible for mowing and trimming grass areas within pool enclosures, training seasonal hires, and coordinating deliveries with outside vendors. Adherence to the assigned schedule and City timekeeping/attendance policies is mandatory. Maintaining all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and job requirements without interruption is essential.
