About The Position

To coordinate and monitor the use of a high school swimming pool by school, community groups, athletic leagues or civic organizations, and to provide other support as needed.

Requirements

Valid First Aid/CPR certification required
Passage of pre-employment physical examination
General knowledge of the principles and techniques of operating a public facility.
Knowledge of equipment used in aquatic activities such as timing systems and starting blocks.
Ability to plan and schedule events, athletic competitions, or recreational activities.
Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently under general supervision.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to meet schedules and timelines.
Work collaboratively with others, including student athletes and helpers.
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and a minimum of two (2) years’ of increasingly responsible experience in management of an aquatic or recreational facility.

Responsibilities

Coordinate pool use by school, community groups, athletic leagues or civic organizations.
Assist site administrators with scheduling and civic use.
Prepare pool area for a variety of athletic competitions and physical education activities.
Maintain the pool deck and all pool-related safety equipment in an orderly condition and perform periodic safety checks of rails, diving boards and other equipment.
Perform light and routine custodial duties to maintain pool or locker areas in safe, clean and hygienic condition.
Serve as liaison between the school and community groups.
Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment.
Explain pool rules, regulations and safety policies to community groups and other pool users; act as a lifeguard if properly trained and certified.
Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.
Perform related duties in the Athletic Department as assigned.
