About The Position

Adult Protective Services (APS) Assessor – Region 1 (Northwest Indiana) Location: Region 1 – Northwest IndianaEmployment Type: Full-TimeWork Model: Virtual with Local Travel Required (up to 50%)Schedule: Monday–Friday, Regular Business Hours Summary Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) is hiring an APS Assessor to support the Indiana Bureau of Better Aging (BBA). In this role, you will investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving endangered adults. This position requires on-site field investigations and travel within the following counties: We are seeking applicants located in Tippecanoe County and surrounding areas within the Northwest region.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Must be able to conduct investigations in challenging, sensitive, or potentially uncomfortable work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving endangered adults
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including interviews, record reviews, and collaboration with other investigative agencies
  • Initiate and facilitate referrals to services and community resources
  • Document investigation activities, including case planning, safety planning, case notes, and findings
  • Serve as Priority A (within 24 hours of receipt) responder to initiate timely contact with clients facing immediate harm
  • Respond to all assigned investigations within the required timeframe. Travel is required to the location of the assigned investigation.
  • Ability to conduct effective fact-finding interviews by asking probing questions that uncover key information, clarify inconsistencies, and determine the severity and impact of investigative issues.
  • Review and respond to quality assurance evaluations
