About The Position

APRNs diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. APRNs work under the direct supervision of a physician.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida as an APRN.
  • At least (5) years of experience as a APRN.
  • Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to work with individuals within and outside the organization, in professional and courteous manner.
  • Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Strong ability to use independent judgment and initiative.
  • Organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Resourcefulness in problem solving.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform annual evaluations on patients and ensure preventative procedures take place.
  • Diagnose and treats illnesses or injuries.
  • Prescribe medication under the direct supervision of the attending MD.
  • Order, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
  • Implement a plan of treatment, including diagnostic studies results.
  • Determine final diagnosis.
  • Work with staff to ensure that the medical needs of the patients are met.
  • Ensure that the patient meets the medical admission criteria.
  • Act as liaison with other physicians.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance of the medical documentation.
  • Participate in the utilization review of the billing process.
  • Directly supervise the work of medical assistants and phlebotomists.
  • Keep medical record documentation according to the State and Federal regulations and their guidelines.
  • Participate in preparation of super bills.
  • Perform duties in honest and ethical manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
