Apprentice Plumber
About The Position
Roto-Rooter is hiring an Apprentice Plumber/service technician to diagnose and resolve customers’ plumbing and drain problems. The position includes 12 weeks of paid initial training at $20 per hour, during which employees learn the trade and receive guidance through the plumber licensing process. After training, employees are paid an hourly rate at or above minimum wage for hours worked, with potential to earn commissions on revenue and additional commissions for selling products and treatments. First-year service technicians earn $55,000 on average, according to the posting.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
- Prior plumbing experience is not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose plumbing and drain problems during service calls.
- Provide cost estimates and close the sale.
- Make the necessary repairs for customers.
- Document estimates and invoices in writing and on a provided smartphone.
- Collect payment and proceed to the next service call.
