About The Position

The Westlake Group, comprised of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and Westlake Plumbing, is seeking full-time Plumber Apprentices for residential and light commercial work in central Arkansas. This is a 4-year program that includes weekly evening Plumbing Apprenticeship classes and assigned homework. Apprentices will assist senior plumbers in performing diagnostics, service, and installation of plumbing systems in residential and light commercial environments, ensuring work complies with relevant codes and manufacturer specifications. A desire to learn, follow directions, and complete tasks with attention to detail is essential.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• 1-2 years plumbing or other trade experience.
• Desire to learn, ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Problem solving skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs regularly.
• Ability to access small and confining spaces of attics, crawlspaces, mechanical areas that require crawling and climbing.
• GED or High School Diploma is Preferred.
• Apprentice License

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in new construction plumbing, residential service plumbing, or drain cleaning is a plus, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed plumbers with residential repairs and installations.
• Assist new construction crew on new home plumbing installation in all phases of construction.
• Participate in all company sponsored training classes.
• Maintain a professional image by wearing company-approved apparel.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Abide by standards of performance and code of ethics.
• Maintain a courteous demeanor with all customers and associates.
• Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Respect the customer’s property.
• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, fixtures, water heating equipment, or drainage systems in accordance with plumbing codes and manufacturer specifications.
