About The Position

Roto-Rooter, founded in 1935, is North America's largest provider of plumbing, drain cleaning, and water cleanup services, operating in over 100 company-owned branches and approximately 400 independent franchise operations across the U.S. and parts of Canada. Roto-Rooter provides an initial 12 weeks of paid sewer and drain service training, plus continuing training in their plumbing school to learn the trade. The daily job involves providing sewer and drain service to residential and commercial customers. Additionally, Roto-Rooter allows apprentices to schedule time riding with and working alongside a licensed plumber to gain the necessary apprentice hours and knowledge to become a plumber.

Responsibilities

Roto-Rooter plumbing apprentices/drain service technicians use their skills to provide solutions to plumbing and drain problems.
A service call begins with diagnosing problems then providing cost estimates to close the sale.
Perform sewer and drain cleaning services for customers utilizing specialized Roto-Rooter equipment and tools.
Document estimates and invoices, both in writing and on a provided smartphone.
Collect monetary payment and move on to the next service call.
Engage in direct interactions with vulnerable populations, including children and the elderly.
Conduct extensive driving to customer locations in a timely and professional manner.
Enter customers’ residences to deliver reliable service while resolving plumbing issues.
