Requirements

  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent. Successful candidates must provide proof of Grade 12 (or GED) to Ministry of College and Trades.
  • Strong mathematical skills required.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking skills and deal with a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Must be well organized and able to work under direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Related work experience and/or training in a CNC machining environment would be considered an asset.
  • Computer fundamentals an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyperson in completion of work assignments efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform outlined procedures for regular machine preventive/predictive maintenance program.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair activities for machine breakdowns as required, utilizing blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawing.
  • Assembly machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Participate in preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Under supervision, assist with installation of new equipment, coordinated with outside services, as required.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of stock deficiencies and tool/material requirements.
  • Support and maintain the department lean initiatives as set out in the LPS system.
  • Participate in PHSR requirements
  • Rotational shift and overtime work may be required.
