About The Position

The Apprentice Millwright is responsible for installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to LLSR company standards and procedures. This position requires the apprentice to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment to ensure the day-to-day operations of LLSR run smoothly and efficiently. The Lake Louise Ski Resort is a world-class ski area nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. We are a year-round operation, operating as a ski resort in the winter months and as a sightseeing gondola in the summer months. Requirements

  • 2nd to 4th year millwright apprentice, registered at an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment
  • Safety oriented, adhere to OH&S responsibility and requirements
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Must possess accurate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good physical condition as this position requires some heavy lifting, standing for long periods
  • Manual dexterity required to use hand and power tools
  • Able to work supervised & unsupervised
  • A three-month probationary period applies
  • A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment
  • A friendly and professional manner

Responsibilities

  • Moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment
  • Following all safety standards during all work assignments & maintaining work areas in a safe orderly fashion
  • Vast experience of lift operations and maintenance
  • Adhering to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications.
  • Identifying and correcting any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment
  • Repairing any problems associated with new equipment
  • Ensuring that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
  • Performing preventative maintenance once the machines and equipment are put into operation
  • Completing all paperwork as required
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
  • Other duties as assigned
