About The Position

The Lake Louise Ski Resort is seeking an Apprentice Millwright to join their team in Lake Louise. This role involves installing, dismantling, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment according to company standards. The position is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the resort, which is a year-round operation offering both winter skiing and summer sightseeing gondola services. Requirements

  • 2nd to 4th year millwright apprentice, registered at an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment.
  • Safety oriented, adhere to OH&S responsibility and requirements.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must possess accurate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good physical condition as this position requires some heavy lifting, standing for long periods.
  • Manual dexterity required to use hand and power tools.
  • Able to work supervised and unsupervised.
  • A three-month probationary period applies.
  • A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment.
  • A friendly and professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Vast experience of lift operations and maintenance.
  • First aid certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Install or dismantle machinery and equipment according to LLSR company standards and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning equipment.
  • Move, assemble, troubleshoot, and repair various types of machinery and equipment.
  • Follow all safety standards during all work assignments and maintain work areas in a safe, orderly fashion.
  • Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications.
  • Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes to facilitate production.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment.
  • Repair any problems associated with new equipment.
  • Ensure that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance once machines and equipment are put into operation.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
