We are recruiting for a mission-driven Apprentice I, Nursing Labor and Delivery to join our team! The Labor & Delivery department is comprised of three units: Obstetrics Screening Room (OBSR), Obstetrics Special Care Unit (OBSCU), and Labor and Delivery (L&D). The Labor and Delivery unit is a 15-bed unit providing care for both low and high-risk mothers, offering medicated and unmedicated birthing options with skilled nursing staff providing various labor support techniques. The department also includes three operating rooms, five post anesthesia care unit (PACU) bays, an 8-bed triage unit, and an antepartum unit. The Nursing Apprentice, under the direct supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. This role offers nursing students the opportunity to enhance clinical skills in a hospital environment while enrolled in an ADN or BSN program. The Nursing Apprentice I adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics (2015), utilizing the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice.
