About The Position
Foodland Super Market, Ltd. is a locally owned and operated company that has been serving Hawai'i for over 75 years. This is an hourly, part-time position (24+ hours per week) where evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred. Candidates with open availability will be prioritized. This role involves ensuring seafood cases are well-stocked, preparing and merchandising seafood products, maintaining inventory control, assisting customers, and promoting sales.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to frequently lift, maneuver and/or carry up to 75 pounds
- Must successfully pass apprentice/training program (applies to apprentice only)
- Must have TB Clearance
- Must comply with all company policies and requirements
Nice To Haves
- High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the seafood cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality seafood products for our customers
- Receiving, stocking, cutting, preparing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and attractively merchandising seafood department products
- Proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness and availability, while minimizing waste
- Attending the service case
- Assisting customers with special requests, and answering questions about our seafood products
- Helping to increase sales by offering product samples and by recommending additional items
