About The Position

The Apprentice Diesel Tech-Mechanic provides accurate and efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a reasonable and responsible manner, following company and industry standards. The role includes diagnosing issues, developing and communicating repair plans, completing mechanical and electrical repairs, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and recommending other company services during inspection reviews. The position requires flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, and working in both interior and exterior conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer's technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
• Meet the requirements for the needed physical tasks, with or without accommodation.
• Invest in own tools.
• Work well with others and be excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in a team environment, aiming to exceed customer expectations.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret the results.
• Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
• Maintain the safety of customers and employees.
