About The Position

Kristian Electric is looking for an Electrician or Millwright Apprentice to join their Overhead Crane Service Technician team in Calgary. As an Apprentice Crane Technician, you will receive training and coaching throughout your apprenticeship while learning about crane service, repairs, troubleshooting, installation, and inspections. This role involves assisting with the servicing and installation of overhead cranes at customer job sites and in the local shop. The successful candidate will be reliable, conscientious, a team player, and safety-focused.

Requirements

Must be an indentured apprentice in good standing with apprenticeship board
Minimum 2-year electrical experience — clearly state your level of apprenticeship (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year) on your application
Must be comfortable working at heights
Must have reliable transportation and must have a valid non-graduated driver’s license, a 5-year driver’s abstract, and a 3-year letter of experience from your insurance, evidencing a clean driving record
Must be safety oriented

Nice To Haves

Electrical experience in industrial areas preferred
WHMIS 2015, CSTS, Fall Arrest, Elevated Work Platform, Emergency or Standard First Aid – CPR, Scissor Lift, Forklift certification, Overhead Crane Operator Training

Responsibilities

Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of overhead cranes and equipment
Assisting in the installation of overhead cranes and corresponding equipment
Troubleshooting equipment to diagnose deficiencies and determine repairs required
Repairing or replacing defective parts
Cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and performing other maintenance work on lifting equipment
Servicing attachments and working tools
Continued education, technical experience, and on-the-job learning
