About The Position
Chartwells, a partner of Compass Group, is seeking an aspiring apprentice chef to join their team at Saint Ignatius College Riverview, NSW. This opportunity offers a fully paid, Australian Nationally Recognised Qualification – Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. Chartwells specializes in providing catering and hospitality services within the education sector, operating high school cafes, university food-halls, and providing live-in college/boarding school meals and special event catering, with a focus on fun, nutritious dining solutions.
Requirements
- Passionate about building a long-term career in the culinary industry and ready to commit to the journey.
- Have a positive, can-do attitude and show initiative.
- Take pride in your work and genuinely enjoy learning.
- Be committed to completing a three-year apprenticeship.
- Be punctual and reliable, with flexibility for early morning starts and occasional evening shifts for events.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and work well within a team.
- Have a genuine passion for food and a strong desire to build a successful, ongoing career in commercial cookery.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a cook or kitchen hand.
- Certificate II in Cookery.
