About The Position

The Apprentice Carpenter is responsible for assisting carpenters with project construction and executing quality craftsmanship. This role involves performing labor associated with construction, observing and following company safety policies, and maintaining a clean job site. The apprentice will also be responsible for the proper care and basic maintenance of tools and equipment, and supporting carpenters for increased productivity.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
• Ability to work with power and hand tools efficiently, proficiently, and safely.
• A valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and a working telephone number are required.

Nice To Haves

• Two years as a laborer or equivalent role preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters with project construction.
• Perform labor associated with construction including nailing and cutting lumber to size.
• Observe and follow company safety policies.
• Attend company safety meetings as required.
• Ask for help or instruction when unsure of what to do in any given situation.
• Recognize an unsafe condition and bring it to the attention of the foreman or superintendent.
• Interact well with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Keep job site clean & properly stack and protect materials from the elements.
• Perform proper care and basic maintenance of all on-site company tools and equipment.
• Support carpenters as needed for increased productivity through proper planning and looking ahead.
