About The Position

Velocity Vehicle Group is seeking an Apprentice Body Shop Technician for an entry-level role supporting truck body shop operations. The position is intended for someone motivated to learn technician duties, with training provided that includes shadowing a master technician. The role performs truck restoration and repairs, maintains tools and equipment, follows safe work practices and applicable regulations, and cooperates with other personnel to repair and prepare trucks.

Free range of motion in hands and arms to work with small parts and in small spaces.

Critical-thinking skills to assess damage and determine repairs.
Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to pass a post-offer drug screening, physical examination including a lift test, and background check.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

Perform body restoration on trucks, including restoration of damaged trucks.
Perform work on rear and front axles.
Replace transmissions, radiators, compressors, starters, frame rails, fifth wheels, and roofs.
Perform electrical work on trucks.
Notify the Manager of additional repairs needed.
Notify the Manager of difficulties or problems that could prevent quality work or change the promised completion time.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.
Operate tools and equipment safely.
Maintain and wear required safety and health personal protective equipment.
Comply with laws and regulations concerning paint and other hazardous materials.
Cooperate with and assist other personnel in repairing and preparing trucks.
Comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations.
