About The Position

Velocity Vehicle Group is seeking an Apprentice Body Shop Technician for an entry-level role. The position is intended for someone motivated to learn body shop operations and technician duties. Training will be provided, including shadowing a master technician. The technician works on truck restoration and repairs, maintains and safely operates tools and equipment, uses required personal protective equipment, follows regulations for hazardous materials and body shop operations, and assists other personnel with truck repair and preparation.

• Free range of motion in hands and arms to work with small parts and in small spaces.

• Critical thinking skills to assess damage and determine repairs.
• Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to pass a post-offer drug screening, physical examination including a lift test, and background check.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform body restoration on trucks, including damaged trucks.
• Perform work on rear and front axles.
• Replace transmissions, radiators, and compressors.
• Replace starters, frame rails, fifth wheels, and roofs.
• Perform electrical work on trucks.
• Notify the Manager of additional repairs needed.
• Notify the Manager of difficulties or problems that may prevent quality work or change the promised completion time.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Operate tools and equipment safely.
• Maintain and wear required safety and health personal protective equipment.
• Comply with laws and regulations pertaining to paint and other hazardous materials.
• Cooperate with and assist other personnel in repairing and preparing trucks.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations.
