About The Position
The Appointment Scheduling Specialist – Family Care 18437 position at Texas Health requires a passion for making a difference. This role is based in a fast-paced Family Care clinic with a great work environment and a collaborative team approach. The specialist will be responsible for managing patient appointments, ensuring coverage, and communicating with patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years related experience in healthcare environment (Preferred)
- Previous Customer Service experience (Strongly Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls and scheduling patient appointments.
- Conducting patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care.
- Scheduling tests, procedures, and referral appointments.
- Communicating with patients regarding appointments and instructions for procedures and tests.
- Collecting fees such as co-pays / co-insurance.
- Gathering insurance information and patient personal data.
- Demonstrating positive professional customer service in all patient, staff, and visitor contacts.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
