About The Position

Monte Carlo is hiring an Applied Forward Deployed Engineer (Post-Sales) to own the technical side of new customer deployments from contract close through launch and ongoing value realization. The role writes production code in customers’ Snowflake and Databricks environments, integrates Monte Carlo with their data pipelines, and serves as a technical advisor. Success is measured by whether customers go live, actively use the product, and realize measurable value. As an early member of a new function, the engineer will help create the FDE playbook. The position is remote in the US and involves approximately 25% travel to customers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience building on Snowflake, Databricks, or a modern cloud data warehouse, with experience designing and building the platform rather than only using it.
  • Production experience with Python and SQL.
  • Ability to integrate REST APIs in customer environments.
  • Experience owning technical outcomes for enterprise customers after contract signing, such as through implementation, solutions or forward deployed engineering, or technical onboarding.
  • Focus on customer go-live and adoption.
  • Ability to lead working sessions with data engineers and brief VP-level stakeholders.
  • Experience operating without an established playbook and creating structure independently.
  • Willingness to write code in customer technology stacks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or Looker.
  • Experience in data quality, pipeline monitoring, or incident response.
  • Background in data observability or an adjacent category.

Responsibilities

  • Own post-close deployment, configuring monitors, alerts, and integrations for each customer’s environment.
  • Write production-quality Python, SQL, and API integrations tailored to customer pipelines.
  • Resolve obstacles between contract signing and a fully operational deployment.
  • Drive customers to active product consumption and measurable value.
  • Expand adoption beyond the initial champion across teams, data assets, and use cases.
  • Share field feedback with Product and Engineering to inform the core product and avoid one-off solutions.
  • Help develop the FDE playbook as an early team member.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Equity.
  • Remote-first work environment.
