About The Position

Elastic is rapidly growing its Federal Services Team to support public sector customers with opportunities to support customers across the U.S. and internationally. As an Applied Engineer at Elastic, you will work directly with our most strategic customers to own, deliver, and implement mission driven outcomes. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding strategy, architecture, design, and engineering. The ideal candidate is technically adept, mission driven, and skilled in building strong customer relationships. We believe the best solutions come from those closest to the problem. Requirements

  • Eligible for a U.S. Federal security clearance (TS/SCI or higher).
  • You are a builder. You solve complex problems with simplicity.
  • Proficiency of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling
  • Demonstrated ability as a software engineer with at least one language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Golang).
  • Experience working with customers to gather requirements, plan, and deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions with Elasticsearch or similar distributed data technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems, including command-line interfaces.
  • Familiarity with information retrieval and analytics domains.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with databases, including SQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB, or similar NoSQL technologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new Elastic technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications or expertise in technologies like Ansible, GitHub, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Redis, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with network data, cybersecurity data, and system logs.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build and implement robust security architectures and data pipelines
  • Architect and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns and tailored automation frameworks to ensure scalable, secure, and repeatable environment deployments for customer on-boarding
  • Bring disparate enterprise data to AI agents
  • Engineer advanced search architectures by implementing and ingesting data for sparse and dense vectors within the Search AI Platform
  • Architect and optimize elasticsearch for massive-scale ingest of IT, OT, geopoint, and other mission data.
  • Build strong relationships as a customer advocate, ensuring excellent communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and present demos and proof-of-concepts that showcase the value of the Elastic Stack.
  • Conduct data modeling, query development, vector embedding, optimization, and cluster tuning for scalable, high-performance search and analytics.
