About The Position

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking an Applications Trainer to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering training to end users on how to efficiently and effectively use various software programs to support business objectives. The Applications Trainer will design, deliver, and improve in-house applications training programs, acting as a change agent for EVR. The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will interact effectively with all levels of the organization, possess a strong customer service orientation, a high level of initiative, and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision. This role is based out of any site in the Elk Valley and offers a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off, promoting work-life balance in a location with abundant outdoor recreational opportunities.

Requirements

Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite®
Knowledge of trends in computer technology relating to software
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Experience with staff development would be an asset

Responsibilities

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Create, administer, analyze, and report on end user needs assessments and skills assessments
Design, develop, and deliver training programs and individual classes for software applications
Review training materials and documentation as well as keeping them up to date
Create training videos to support Competency Based training model
Communicate software problems and issues to software development and support teams
Track training of participants in the training database
Provide Application support as required
