About The Position

Design, develop, and maintain system training for new and current end-users for assigned applications across the Nebraska Medicine enterprise and community connect partners. This includes the development and maintenance of designated application materials, assessments, training support documents, e-learnings, and other educational materials. Responsible for preparation and evaluation of Credentialed Trainers for designated applications at Nebraska Medicine and our community connect sites. Assist the Applications Training Lead with additional job functions such as attending application and/or project team meetings. Assist the Credentialed Trainers with additional job functions such as some classroom training, providing at the elbow support to end users, administering test outs and assessments, or other training related tasks. Communicate changes and/or updates needed to training environment build to Applications Training Leads in a timely manner. Communicate changes and/or updates made to training environment build and associated curriculum in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years nursing or allied health experience in designated area of applications supported OR minimum of three years business systems or healthcare related experience in designated area of applications supported.
  • Bachelor's degree OR Associates degree AND equivalent combination of education/experience (one year of education equals two years of experience).
  • User is able to pass the appropriate application assigned credentialing sessions within three months of hire.
  • User is able to pass the appropriate curriculum certification within six months of hire.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups of all educational levels and backgrounds.
  • Ability to adjust communication method and content to end-user education level, preference, and need.
  • Attention to detail, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to present training in front of large groups of professionals.
  • Ability to problem-solve on the spot and effectively adapt to changing environment and training needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with healthcare information systems.
  • Knowledge of operational healthcare/clinic workflows.
  • Self-directed and able to carry out job responsibilities with little or limited direction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license OR appropriate allied health license in the state of Nebraska only as required in accordance with appropriate degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing and facilitating classroom, online, and one-on-one training.
  • Experience with a formal Learning Management System and experience utilizing Epic.
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or allied health field, healthcare or business administration, health sciences, information technology, or education.
  • Experience with formal learning management systems and the use of e-learning applications (Captivate, Articulate).
  • Prior Epic application or curriculum certification.
  • Experience with an electronic medical record.
  • Ability to retrieve and effectively communicate organizational policies, procedures, and business operations.
  • Experience developing adult learning curriculum.
  • Analytical skills specific to troubleshooting application issues.
