About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) Tech Support professional to join the Digital Foundations team within the Information Technology Division (ITD). This role reports to the Tech Support Services manager and is responsible for providing technical support for mainframe, middleware infrastructure, and distributed products, databases, and projects. The position also functions as a Database Analyst for complex databases and assists application teams with CICS administration, problem-solving, debugging, and administering X/PTR reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development OR High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of DB2, CICS, ISPF, CLISTS, Mainframe library structures

Responsibilities

Provide Technical Support for mainframe, middleware infrastructure, and distributed products, databases, and projects.
Serve as a Database Analyst responsible for complex databases.
Assist application teams by providing CICS administration, problem-solving and debugging support.
Assist in administering the definition, relationships, and maintenance of X/PTR reports.
