About The Position

The ideal candidate will manage database access, permissions, and security while designing, building, and maintaining database structures. This role includes supporting data modeling and database design, monitoring system performance and availability, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The candidate will identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies, as well as maintain database systems, tools, and scripts to support ongoing operations. Responsibilities also include performing backups and restorations, testing recovery plans, and handling patches, upgrades, and system improvements. Additionally, the role involves creating technical documentation, maintaining source control for scripts, collaborating with vendors, and supporting multiple database platforms.

Requirements

  • A four‐year college degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar major is (candidates without a four‐year degree, but with several years of relevant experience, may also be considered)
  • Prior database management
  • High quality and attention to detail is required
  • Must possess excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to make logical and sound decisions under supervision
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to varied roles and job responsibilities and problem‐solving skills
  • Work performed during non‐standard work hours is required
