About The Position

Franklin Empire is a leading full line electrical distributor with a growing presence in Ontario and Quebec. We represent numerous quality manufacturers and provide products and solutions for industrial, commercial, residential, and utility markets. This role specifically focuses on Factory Automation, Motion Control systems, and mechanical components, including HMIs, safe and non-safe PLCs, servo control systems, variable speed drives, motors, gear motors, gearboxes, actuators, and collaborative robots. The Applications Specialist will be responsible for developing and supporting sales activities by leveraging specialized electro-mechanical technical knowledge, application strengths, and market awareness. This role involves collaborating with Sales Representatives and Business Developers to support key products and contribute to sales strategies to achieve targets. The Applications Specialist will provide applications support, assist with quotations, and deliver training to both customers and the internal sales team.

Requirements

• Prior experience selling and applying SCADA HMI, PLC motion and drives products.
• Proven technical skills.
• Customer service focus.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree, Engineering Certification or equivalent.
• Minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong technical and organizational aptitude.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Own a car.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Siemens Simatic PLC’s on the TIA and Step7 Classic platform.
• Experience with general purpose drives and motion products.
• Mechanical systems knowledge.
