Applications Lab Technician
About The Position
The Applications Lab Technician prepares a wide variety of bench samples for the Evaluation Team and supports project turnaround by coordinating with team members and other departments. The role offers hands-on experience with a broad range of consumer products and works under the supervision of the Cosmetic Chemist. The technician ensures application requests are prepared to Belle Aire Creations standards, maintains lab supplies and inventory, prioritizes daily requests, and keeps the lab clean and organized while following safety procedures and standard operating procedures. Other duties may be assigned, and responsibilities may change without notice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent oral and written English proficiency.
- Ability to work well under pressure and amid changing dynamics.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform basic percentage calculations.
- Detail-oriented and deadline-oriented.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others to complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
- Ability to learn and follow various standard operating procedures.
- Ability to apply rational principles to solve practical problems involving concrete variables and limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret written, oral, visual, or schedule-based instructions.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds onto waist-high shelves and lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment.
- Ability to judge distance, identify details, and regularly view a computer screen.
- Ability to use fingers, walk, and distinguish basic colors frequently; use both hands, sit for extended periods, and use rapid or well-developed coordination simultaneously on a continuous basis.

- Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare application samples according to each request and BAC standards, ensuring that required fragrance oils, wax or base, wicks, and printed labels are present.
- Notify team members when items needed to complete a request are missing.
- Provide completed samples to the assigned Evaluation Team member.
- Identify and complete priority requests before other requests, in a timely manner.
- Record wax or base usage and update inventory accordingly.
- Maintain daily inventory of current and incoming bases, containers, vessels, and other supplies, ensuring sufficient supplies for upcoming projects.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing team to restock vessels when inventory is low.
- Keep the lab clean and organized and comply with safety and SOP procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
