About The Position

The Applications Engineer at the Precision Control Systems (PCSOG) division of The Hill Group (THG) works closely with Salesmen, Project Managers, and Programming Technicians to design control systems for project execution and department goals. The role involves engineering and drafting building automation control systems for new and existing facilities, preparing submittals and parts lists, and supporting installation, programming, and commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related major.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situations.
• Initiative, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a positive and professional approach when dealing with coworkers, clients, vendors, and others.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while also being a team player.
• Dependable, organized, and self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD, Vizio, Schneider Studio 360, Tridium Niagara, or Tridium Workplace Pro.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and draft controls projects.
• Interpret and comply with engineering contract plans and specifications.
• Design detailed and complex building automation controls systems for new and existing facilities.
• Create submittals.
• Develop detailed parts lists for purchasing.
• Draft detailed controls drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Assist electricians, project managers, and programmers with the installation, programming, and commissioning of controls systems.
