About The Position

Siemens EDA is seeking a Principal Applications Engineer to work as a product engineer for an EDA tool within its research and development team in California. The role contributes to the evolution and development of EDA software solutions and provides technical support and guidance to users designing future generations of smartphones, autonomous vehicles, laptops, and other products. The engineer also promotes Siemens EDA software through presentations, international trade shows, and visits to customers and prospects, participating throughout the customer lifecycle from initial contact through evaluations and after-sales support. The position is based in Santa Clara, California, and is hybrid, with flexibility to work at home and in the office.

Requirements

Engineering degree, Master's degree, or PhD in microelectronics.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in ASIC front-end design or EDA.
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments.
Proficiency in Tcl and Python scripting.
Very good knowledge of RTL languages: Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.
Knowledge of collateral languages, including IP-XACT, UPF, SDC, and LEF/DEF.
Very good knowledge of front-end ASIC design tools and processes, including SoC design integration, synthesis tools, verification including simulation, and timing-constraints management.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Very good spoken and written communication skills, especially in English.
