About The Position
We are seeking a Applications Engineer who'll work closely with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing to support the Selux product line through fixture layouts, technical support, and project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Solid Works
- Very proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Ability to read architectural, reflected ceiling, and electrical plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking ability to analyze design and project requirements, identify potential conflicts, and determine practical solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a proactive manner and communicate project status and timelines effectively.
Nice To Haves
- Lighting Experience a Plus
- Mechanical drafting background preferred; architectural drawing experience a plus.
- Knowledge of building construction related to lighting fixtures is a plus.
- Spanish-English bilingual skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Create submittal drawings using AutoCAD for customer interior, exterior, and custom projects, including shipping charts.
- Create layout drawings using SolidWorks for customer interior and exterior projects, including shipping charts.
- Evaluate and review change requests for feasibility.
- Revise existing drawings as needed.
- Manage and prioritize drawing assignments.
- Collaborate with Applications Engineering team members on projects.
- Maintain standard product CAD files and documentation.
- Review and verify drawings completed by team members.
- Participate in workload scheduling.
- Provide technical support to Sales and Project Management teams.
- Support remote Applications Engineering team members through video conferencing and other virtual collaboration tools.
- Take ownership of assigned projects from initial request through completion, maintaining drawing accuracy, quality, and adherence to project deadlines.
- Maintain knowledge of Selux products, engineering standards, and departmental procedures to support accurate and efficient project execution.
