About The Position

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate-level position that participates in establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The role contributes to applications systems analysis and programming, with hands-on experience in Java programming and DevOps tools and technologies.

The position designs, develops, and maintains scalable backend services, microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems, emphasizing reliability, security, and scalability. It also manages CI/CD pipelines, monitors applications with observability tools, integrates AI/ML capabilities where applicable, and develops automated testing frameworks. The role includes technical leadership through system design, code reviews, enforcing engineering practices, mentoring junior developers, production support, and collaboration across engineering and product teams. Technical decisions must account for risk and comply with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
• Working knowledge of consulting or project management techniques and methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to support smooth and reliable deployments.
• Monitor applications with modern observability tools and apply intelligent monitoring or anomaly detection techniques.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and enterprise-grade distributed systems, focusing on reliability, security, and scalability.
• Lead system design and development efforts, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities or third-party AI services into backend applications where applicable.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, improve test coverage, and enhance debugging efficiency.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks, incorporating AI-driven techniques where applicable.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and product managers.
• Optimize database queries, improve application performance, and ensure high availability and resiliency.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Conduct root cause analysis, performance tuning, and production support.
• Mentor and guide junior developers and promote modern engineering practices, including AI-enabled development.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in backend engineering, cloud, and AI-driven software development.
• Assess technical risks and ensure decisions align with organizational standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
