About The Position

NewGen Technologies is seeking an Applications Developer to support the Sponsor’s production and development services. The Sponsor creates interactive, mobile, video, web, and audio products for executive customers and manages its own cloud-based infrastructure and custom applications. The role supports the development, maintenance, and improvement of applications and services used in production, including work in an AWS environment. The successful candidate will communicate effectively, collaborate with teams, and manage a moderate to heavy workload while meeting quality, responsiveness, accessibility, and development standards.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI FSP clearance.
Demonstrated experience supporting frontend and backend application development for applications and services that improve producer experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting frontend and backend application development for applications and services that facilitate production of complex visual products.
Demonstrated experience with version control software, including Git and GitHub.
Demonstrated experience with presentational development, including HTML5/CSS3, Hugo or other static site generators, and SASS.
Demonstrated experience with functional development, including JavaScript, Angular, Vue, React, and Node.js.
Demonstrated experience with any combination of TypeScript, Webpack, Lerna, or Electron.
Demonstrated experience with cloud-based infrastructure development and automation, including AWS, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudWatch, AWS S3, and AWS ELB.
Demonstrated experience with at least one of Express.js, Koa.js, or NGINX; experience with all three is a plus.
Demonstrated experience with at least one of RDS, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
Ability to communicate, work collaboratively, and manage a moderate to heavy workload.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated experience with cloud-based infrastructure development, auditing, and automation using DynamoDB, ECS, Elasticsearch, or Kibana.
Demonstrated experience with Jenkins or related automation services.
Demonstrated experience with Oracle.
Demonstrated experience supporting system security documentation.
Demonstrated experience with mobile mapping capabilities and charting.
Demonstrated experience with Fastify.

Responsibilities

Manage project priorities and tasks to ensure accuracy, timeliness, clarity of message, and quality control.
Meet the Sponsor’s requirements for quality, responsiveness, and accessibility; follow development standards and modern web and application development best practices.
Update assigned project statuses in the Sponsor’s production tracking tool.
Design datasets and data objects suitable for JSON use in interactive and mobile productions, web applications, and websites.
Provide development, maintenance, and upgrade support for in-house tools, cloud-based servers, applications and services, project boilerplates, and web application packaging tools in an AWS environment.
Advise and assist project teams with process documentation for individual tasks, knowledge sharing, and development workflows.
Use AWS services and related tools to build, host, and monitor applications.
Use server-side and frontend technologies to build and maintain application servers and applications.
Use relational and NoSQL databases to support current applications.
Develop and participate in software system testing and validation, programming, and documentation.
Maintain and modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
Review existing programs and help refine them, reduce operating time, and improve techniques.
Store, retrieve, and manipulate data to analyze system capabilities or requirements.
