About The Position

Wieland is hiring a Business Applications Developer. This position will design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable business applications that support operational and administrative processes. This role works with business users, architects, and IT teams to deliver application enhancements, integrations, automation, reporting, and modernization solutions. This role is located in Granite City and is open to both onsite and hybrid candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.
  • Three or more years of professional software-development or application-development experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, JavaScript, SQL Server, and modern web-development technologies.
  • Experience developing APIs, system integrations, database-driven applications, SQL queries, and stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of Git, software-development lifecycle practices, application testing, deployment, and release management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills; experience supporting ERP, manufacturing, supply-chain, logistics, or other enterprise business systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom business applications, web applications, reports, and software enhancements.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, system integrations, database-driven applications, SQL queries, stored procedures, reports, and data interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot software defects, performance issues, and support requests; perform root-cause analysis and implement tested corrections.
  • Write secure, efficient, readable, and maintainable code that follows established development and architecture standards.
  • Follow source-control, code-review, testing, documentation, security, deployment, and release-management practices.
  • Participate in application implementations, upgrades, migrations, deployments, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical documentation and identify opportunities to automate processes and improve reliability, usability, and efficiency.
