Requirements

  • One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes two years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
  • Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
  • A bachelor's degree in any information technology field.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office on Thursday and Friday each week.
  • If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS) modules and forms using XML, VB.NET, and related tools
  • Assist with connections between TraCS and external systems such as Records Management Systems’ (RMS) and Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN)
  • Troubleshoot issues using the TraCS Software Developer Kit (SDK) and other development tools
  • Check automated processes and take action when they fail
  • Create and update technical documents to support system understanding
  • Participate in project work and support continuity plans during emergencies
