About The Position

The Strategic Technology Division of the New York City Police Department is seeking a Senior IT Architect to serve as an Applications Architect. This role involves developing and coordinating the deployment of emerging technology applications, strategic IT infrastructure, and enterprise platforms. The architect will be responsible for architecting, designing, and developing solutions on Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform, guiding developers, and building applications using Power Platform Dataverse tables. The position also includes envisioning, designing, and implementing business workflows using Power Automation Flows, and leveraging Azure services such as Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions for system integration. Additionally, the role involves designing and implementing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) using Azure DevOps, establishing standards and best practices, maintaining compliance with architecture standards, overseeing the application development life cycle, and ensuring alignment with Citywide and NYPD standards. Experience with configuring Power Platform tenants, environments, and subscriptions, as well as configuring authentication, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and authorization using Azure AD and related Azure services, is also required.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
• Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above.

Responsibilities

• Architecting, designing and developing solutions on Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform.
• Guiding developers and able to build applications using Power Platform Dataverse tables.
• Envisioning, designing, and Implementing business workflows using Power Automation Flows.
• Architectural experience of utilizing Azure services like Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions for system integration.
• Designing and helping implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) using Azure DevOps.
• Establishing standards and best practices and to ensure applications, components, and services comply with established standards and best practices.
• Maintaining compliance with architecture standards and oversee the application development life cycle.
• Ensuring alignment with Citywide and NYPD standards, and propose updates based on industry best practices.
• Experience of configuring Power Platform tenants, environments, and subscriptions.
• Experience to configure authentication, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and authorization using Azure AD and related Azure services.
