About The Position

The Application Analyst III is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting clinical, financial, administrative, and/or other healthcare information systems used for patient care delivery and other supporting functions of the organization. This role oversees practices and processes to ensure the integrity, safety, and availability of all data and applications, supporting customer goals and objectives as well as the business needs of Hoag. The analyst is responsible for planning and system development, project management, and application administration. They must be knowledgeable about the organization’s policies, procedures, and business operations. The role involves evaluating problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for system changes, data retrieval requests, system performance problems, and optimization opportunities, participating in the timely resolution of these activities. The analyst independently resolves the most complex, multi-function application errors and other system issues. A primary responsibility is the build and maintenance of various system dictionaries, profiles, tables, and other configuration points. The analyst identifies system enhancement requests and collaborates with the team for implementation. They independently manage the full lifecycle of medium to large optimizations and coordinate with vendors as appropriate. Testing of the system, including configurations, customizations, and new releases, is performed prior to production implementation. The analyst works with end-users to assist with the design and testing of system reports and communicates changes to end-users and other staff. They lead or facilitate system design, validation, or remediation sessions. An advanced understanding of how the assigned application impacts other systems is required, and the analyst works with integration teams to resolve complex data integration issues. The role involves leading large projects and serving as a subject matter expert on complex, cross-functional projects, providing guidance to level I and II analysts. The analyst performs these functions with minimal oversight and undertakes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with the application, module, or equivalent system as assigned.
  • Advanced knowledge of the assigned applications in at least one functional area.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
  • Current CA driver’s license for local travel.
  • All relevant application certifications and/or badges within area of support.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience with the application, module, or equivalent system as assigned, including experience working in a Health Care Application Services department, preferably within an acute care environment.
  • Experience with data query tools such as SQL.
  • Experience with Kronos Software applications required (Payroll Department only).
  • Other certification with the application(s) within their area of responsibility and support.
