About The Position

We are specifically looking for a candidate who will serve as a liaison across the different Revenue Cycle areas as it relates to charges - collaborating with the patient access, clinical, ancillary, revenue integrity, HIM, coding, and billing departments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building/modifying/inactivating charges, managing work queues within Cerner Millennium and Oracle Health Patient Accounting (OHPAC), and providing support to revenue cycle implementation projects from a charging perspective. This position specifically requires at least 4 years or Cerner Millennium Charge Services build experience. This position requires experience and proficiency with Cerner Charge Services build applications, such as Pricing Tool, Charge Viewer, Charge Transformation, Tiering Logic, Miscellaneous Setup, and other related Charge Services applications. The Applications Systems Analyst III reviews, analyzes and modifies programming/build of systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization's application system. Consults with team and users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program initiatives. Will be expected to write documentation; including but not limited to manuals, CSC Knowledge Base and SOP's to describe program development, logic, coding, corrections, installation and operating systems. Must have a working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. This position will require on-call responsibilities and rotational shift coverage (early and late-shifts) as needed. This position acts as a liaison to other AtlantiCare departments as needed. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of Cerner Millennium Charge Services build experience.
  • Experience and proficiency with Cerner Charge Services build applications, such as Pricing Tool, Charge Viewer, Charge Transformation, Tiering Logic, Miscellaneous Setup, and other related Charge Services applications.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, nursing, or related required (Or 2 additional years of related experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree).
  • 4 years related experience required.
  • Clinical/financial experience as it relates to healthcare IT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business personnel to identify, document and meet business information needs.
  • Assist or conduct studies in the design, development, analysis and implementation of systems that meet project objectives.
  • Coordinate the selection and purchase of hardware and related equipment that meet business needs.
  • Serve as a lead and/or participate in enhancements and projects.
  • Lead incident, change and problem management services as it relates to their respective team within AtlantiCare IT.
  • Make sound recommendations and assist in the implementation of processes and workflows that enhance the use of system applications and/or facilitates quality improvement initiatives.
  • Integrate computer systems and processes across functions/business units.
  • Collaborate effectively with project team members and apply accepted project management principles.
  • Assume project leadership responsibility or assist other project leaders as required.
  • Ensure a smooth and thorough turnover process to technical and operational support.
  • Maintain an expert/in-depth knowledge of the application and the departments using the application.
  • Develop and provide training to users.
  • Develop and maintain an expert/in depth level of knowledge of the system application and/or service by effectively resolving daily problems and issues.
  • Responsible for innovative enhancement of system functionality.
  • Consistently and accurately maintain the system database as well as supporting documents to include new information and system codes, policies, and procedures, user guides/manuals, and periodic data maintenance.
  • Respond effectively and timely to user issues and problems; act as a resource and mentor to other departments and application systems analysts.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports, ensuring data validity.
  • Perform system tests and audits; make recommendations for resolution of system issues or establishment of new procedures.
  • Assist in the technical development of staff in their area to identify on-the-job training, formal training and work assignments.
  • Provide feedback to the employee on their performance expectation as it relates to the technical aspect of their job.
  • Lead by example, motivate and promote positive team morale.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
