Application Support Analyst
About The Position
Kinsley Construction is seeking an Application Support Analyst to join its internal application development team. The role works with the Applications Team and end users to learn the company’s systems, provide day-to-day support, assist with user setup, and handle basic reporting and data requests. Working under the guidance of senior analysts, the successful candidate can grow into report development, dashboard design, and deeper application administration. The position is suited to a recent graduate or early-career candidate who is detail-oriented, analytically curious, and interested in building a career in business technology. The position reports to the Director of Business Applications.
Requirements
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic SQL knowledge, including SELECT, JOIN, and WHERE, and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with relational databases; SQL Server is preferred.
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with appropriate guidance.
- Strong independent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to ask questions, investigate issues, and verify results.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to nontechnical users.
- Eagerness to learn and take ownership of tasks.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of relevant experience; relevant internships and coursework projects will be considered.
- Exposure to Viewpoint Vista, Trimble Construction One, or another ERP system.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Crystal Reports, or SSRS.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Interest in growing within the Application Development team through hands-on experience with application support, reporting, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for internal users needing help with the Viewpoint Vista ERP system and related applications.
- Troubleshoot common issues, document resolutions, and escalate more complex problems as needed.
- Track and prioritize support requests, communicate progress to users, and follow through to resolution.
- Set up, update, and deactivate user accounts, roles, and security access in line-of-business applications.
- Support the Application Development team with report troubleshooting, data validation, and enhancements using Crystal Reports, Power BI, and SQL as skills develop.
- Create and update user guides, SOPs, and training materials for end users across Accounting, HR, Payroll, and Project Management.
- Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting integrations between Vista and third-party systems such as HCSS and Tenna.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
