About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Python Developer for a hybrid contract opportunity with a Global Financial Institution in Jersey City, NJ. The role involves joining the Dynamic Pricing engine team to transform and implement a next-generation engine. As part of an agile scrum team, the candidate will collaborate with users to refine requirements, develop high-quality, scalable systems, and drive key program initiatives. This position requires a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days per week onsite.

Requirements

7+ years of professional experience developing solutions with Python, should be well versed with OOP
Must have fundamental RDBMS skills and ANSI SQL
Proven track record of interacting with different groups at various levels in a large organization
Must be a strategic thinker who can focus on process improvement
Ability to apply architectural patterns and principles to achieve reusability, testability, scalability and maintainability
Experience with financial data – e.g. FIX
TDD/BDD experience, including experience with refactoring, testing frameworks (JUnit, xUnit and similar) and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
Experience with release management, branching strategies and distributed source control systems such as GIT
Experience with Kafka or other messaging software (TIBCO, Solace, MQ, etc)
Experience and desire to work in an Agile process (pair programming, daily stand-ups, etc.)
Experience in designing and implementing RESTful web services
Demonstrable knowledge of problem domain in which they have been working
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Participate in the transformation and implementation of a next-generation Dynamic Pricing engine
Work with users to refine requirements, design, and develop high-quality and scalable systems as part of an agile scrum team
Drive the implementation of key program initiatives
Support business/trading (3rd line support)
