About The Position

ICM Solutions is seeking an Application Engineer to own the technical solution for turnkey and engineer-to-order projects in the crushing and aggregates market. This role involves designing the plant circuit, selecting equipment, optimizing layout, and committing to throughput specifications. The Application Engineer is responsible for ensuring the plant functions as promised, from initial design through final testing and commissioning. This position requires a strong understanding of crushing and bulk material handling processes and the ability to translate customer needs into functional, efficient plant designs.

Requirements

Five or more years in aggregates, mining, or bulk material handling as an application, process, or plant engineer
Operating experience on the producer side counts and is often better than supplier-side experience alone
Demonstrated ability to size and select crushing and screening equipment against a stated feed and product specification
Fluency with gradation analysis, mass balance, circulating load, and screen sizing
Experience committing a throughput number to a customer and being on site when it was tested
Ability to write a technical scope of supply that a project manager can hold a customer to
Willingness to deliver unwelcome technical news to a customer or to our own sales team
Willingness to travel and to be on site through commissioning

Nice To Haves

Flowsheet or simulation software experience
Exposure to multiple equipment manufacturers rather than a single product line
Capital project estimating experience
Hands-on commissioning and performance testing history
CEMA conveyor and transfer point design familiarity
Enough structural and fabrication awareness to know what a layout decision costs in steel

Responsibilities

Characterize the feed: gradation, moisture, abrasiveness, and the gap between what the customer says they have and what they actually have
Design the circuit: flowsheet, mass balance, circulating loads, open versus closed circuit decisions
Select and size equipment: crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, and surge capacity
Own layout and transition design on critical scope, including material trajectory, drop heights, chute and hood geometry, and anything feeding or discharging a guaranteed piece of equipment
Coordinate with equipment vendors and evaluate proposed alternates
Commit throughput and product specifications, and write the qualifiers that go around them
Write the technical scope of supply in language that holds up commercially
Provide the technical basis for the estimate and lead the pursuit as quote owner
Act as technical authority through detailed design, with veto over substitutions
Commission the plant, run performance tests, and troubleshoot when the numbers do not hit
