About The Position

Codeworks, a LRS Company, is seeking an Application Developer for a long-term contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who enjoys building, enhancing, and supporting Java-based web applications while working collaboratively within an Agile development environment. The candidate will contribute to both new application development and enhancements to existing systems, helping deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. Experience supporting financial systems, invoicing, billing, or payment-related applications is highly valued.

Requirements

Hands-on development experience supporting custom applications and legacy systems
Java Development – 4+ years
JavaScript Development – 3+ years
SQL – 2+ years
Experience developing web-based applications.
Experience with Spring Boot and modern Java development practices.
Experience implementing and maintaining unit tests.
Experience documenting technical requirements, system functionality, or application enhancements.
Experience working within Agile development environments.
Experience using Git for source control and code management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting financial systems, invoicing, billing, or payment-related applications

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, maintain, and support custom Java and JavaScript web applications.
Participate as a developer and code reviewer on Agile project teams.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and implement application requirements.
Design and develop application enhancements for existing systems and new solutions.
Create prototypes and proof-of-concept applications to evaluate technical approaches.
Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable application code using modern development frameworks.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to deliver thoroughly tested software.
Contribute to software quality through unit testing and adherence to SDLC best practices.
Support modernization initiatives utilizing Spring Boot, ReactJS, and related technologies.
