About The Position

The Application Developer designs, develops, tests, implements, and supports cloud-based and web-based applications for internal and external clients in a primarily Microsoft environment. The role independently delivers moderately complex features and services within established architecture and engineering standards. The developer uses approved AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, analysis, testing, and documentation while retaining full responsibility for the quality, security, and business alignment of completed work.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of web application development, object-oriented programming, software design, data modeling, API concepts, and user-interface development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft .NET and C#, relational databases and SQL, source control, automated testing, and application troubleshooting.
  • Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field, a software certification specific to full-stack development, or equivalent directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver moderately complex features within established architecture and engineering standards.
  • Working knowledge of secure use, validation, and limitations of approved AI-assisted development tools.
  • Strong analytical, written communication, collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with React, TypeScript, ASP.NET Web API, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure services, CI/CD, and browser-based automated testing such as Playwright.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, insurance, cost-containment, billing, X12.837, or other regulated business applications.
  • Experience working in an agile software-development environment.
  • Learning agility and commitment to continuous technical development.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into secure, maintainable, and testable software.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions, identify uncertainty, and raise risks before release.
  • Human accountability for all AI-assisted work and final deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement application features and services based on documented business requirements and technical designs.
  • Develop and maintain solutions using Microsoft .NET, C#, SQL Server, React, TypeScript, REST APIs, Azure services, and other approved technologies.
  • Test solutions for functionality, performance, security, reliability, and alignment with acceptance criteria; identify and correct defects.
  • Optimize existing code, support application modernization, and develop maintainable enhancements using established design patterns.
  • Create and maintain unit, integration, API, and browser-based automated tests appropriate to assigned work.
  • Participate in requirements discussions, sprint ceremonies, design reviews, pull-request reviews, and production-support activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, work items, source-control practices, and application CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage bug reports and user issues through the organization’s approved ticketing and work-management systems.
  • Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, assumptions, and blockers to team members and business partners.
  • Provide practical support and technical guidance to less-experienced developers as knowledge and experience allow.
  • Use approved AI tools for code explanation, code completion, refactoring suggestions, test generation, troubleshooting, documentation, and analysis.
  • Provide sufficient business and technical context to AI tools without exposing information outside approved systems or data boundaries.
  • Evaluate AI-generated code, tests, requirements, and documentation against source requirements, coding standards, security expectations, and expected application behavior.
  • Break AI-assisted work into small, understandable, reviewable, and testable increments.
  • Document material AI-assisted changes when required by team standards and seek guidance when output, risk, or ownership is unclear.
  • Treat AI output as a recommendation, not as inherently correct or production-ready.
  • Owns moderately complex features or services from clarified requirements through deployment and support.
  • Works independently within established architecture, security, quality, and release standards.
  • Makes implementation-level decisions and recommends design improvements within assigned applications.
  • Escalates architectural, security, compliance, data-handling, and cross-system concerns.
  • This position may use only organization-approved AI tools, data connections, and development practices.
  • The employee must review, test, document, and validate AI-assisted work before use or release and remains accountable for correctness, security, privacy, maintainability, intellectual-property considerations, business alignment, and final decisions.
  • Sensitive or regulated information may be used only within systems approved for that information.
  • Material uncertainty, unexpected behavior, security concerns, or policy conflicts must be escalated through approved channels.
