Under limited supervision, the programmer will perform complex programming functions, assistance, and technical advice in a team environment. This includes configuration, writing, testing, and documentation for complex programming of agency computer systems in the Public Health Deputy Area. Emphasis will be placed on support of systems in the Communicable Disease Epidemiology Section (CDES), including integration and monitoring of supporting backend system processes and solutions, documentation, and remediating and solving customer issues. The role involves analyzing, designing, programming, implementing, maintaining, and providing technical support for Public Health applications and processes as assigned, ensuring maximum system uptime for critical components to maintain business continuity and adhering to Information Technology and security standards. The position emphasizes programming functions and supporting CDES systems, including support, maintenance, and modification of web, mobile, and client/server application modules, processes, and integration services for health program areas. The Application Developer II will also provide technical backup to other health modules as assigned, adhering to Information Technology application development standards and security requirements. The role requires acting as a technical consultant to customers, collaborating with other technology staff to ensure applications meet IT standards, and working with program and analytics staff to meet data and reporting needs while adhering to IT Security Standards. Assistance with problem resolution, preparation and maintenance of system documentation, and providing appropriate administrative documentation/project communication are also key responsibilities. The employee will work under limited supervision, must be customer-oriented, respond to priority tasks as needed, and may require some after-hours and weekend work.
