About The Position

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an enterprise IT services company that designs, builds, secures, and operates software solutions that support mission success and operational excellence across Federal Government organizations. PSI is seeking an Entry-Level Application Administrator who supports the setup, day-to-day operation, and maintenance of business applications used across the organization. Working under the guidance of senior administrators and IT teams, this role helps keep applications running smoothly by responding to user requests, troubleshooting common issues, completing routine updates, and keeping documentation current. This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning new systems, and providing reliable customer support. Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent training/experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or application support (internships and school projects count).
  • Comfort using ticketing systems and following documented processes (SOPs/runbooks).
  • Basic troubleshooting skills (e.g., account access issues, common application errors, connectivity basics).
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • Foundational understanding of the Common Data Service (Dataverse) and D365 environments.
  • Design and implement custom entities, fields, business rules, and complex workflows within the D365 environment to meet evolving business needs.
  • Applied experience with XrmToolBox utilities, managing D365 user access, and security models.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud applications (SaaS) and identity/access concepts (SSO, MFA) at a basic level.
  • Exposure to scripting/automation (PowerShell or Python) or an interest in learning
  • Experience supporting one or more business applications (CRM, HRIS, finance tools) in a school, internship, or work setting.
  • Basic understanding of change management (submitting changes, following maintenance windows, documenting results).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing and configuring approved applications by following documented steps and team guidance.
  • Help monitor basic application status (alerts, dashboards, logs) and report issues to senior staff.
  • Perform routine tasks such as user access requests, scheduled restarts, and simple configuration changes (where permitted).
  • Respond to Tier 1, 2 and Tier 3 application incidents and service requests, following ticketing and escalation procedures.
  • Troubleshoot common issues (login problems, permissions, basic errors) and document findings and next steps.
  • Escalate complex or high-impact issues to the appropriate team and provide clear notes for faster resolution.
  • Maintain and update runbooks, knowledge articles, and how-to guides for common support scenarios.
  • Communicate status updates to users and stakeholders in a clear, professional manner.
  • Foundational understanding of the Common Data Service (Dataverse) and D365 environments.
  • Design and implement custom entities, fields, business rules, and complex workflows within the D365 environment to meet evolving business needs.
  • Applied experience with XrmToolBox utilities, managing D365 user access, and security models.
  • Create and optimize cloud flows to automate cross-application processes, replacing legacy background workflows where applicable.
  • Support Lifecycle Management process by managing solutions and deployments across development, sandbox, and production environments.
  • Follow security standards for access management, data handling, and change control.
  • Support audits by gathering requested information and ensuring documentation is up to date.
  • Participate in training, shadowing, and team knowledge sharing to build application and support skills.
  • Train users/stakeholders on the applications and changes as they deploy.
  • Suggest and make improvements to documentation and support workflows based on recurring issues.
  • Activities and projects as outlined by your manager/supervisor.
