With the introduction of Apple TV+ and Apple TV Channels, we have doubled down on offering amazing content to our customers, both produced by Apple and our partners. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated TV Lead to further grow our video business in the market. The Lead needs to be an outstanding team player and a seasoned manager with a strong commercial background, a deep understanding of video services and subscription platforms, and a comprehensive knowledge of the market. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing commercial strategies, negotiating complex agreements, and driving growth opportunities in a highly competitive environment.

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience in the video subscription space, with a solid commercial background and ability to define long-term development strategies within a global, multi-layered organization.
• Deep understanding of the value-added service ecosystem, specifically the OTT, Pay TV and ISP.
• Experience working in a truly global capacity and have partnered with international teams to drive success.
• Strong experience in the local video marketplace, content rights and distribution, with a view of key trends and players, through a strong local and international network.
• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, fostering collaboration and a can-do attitude.
• Excellent people management skills, including setting goals, driving performance, and encouraging development.
• Proficiency in both Japanese and English is required.
• Outstanding analytical skills, and the ability to clearly present business insights to Senior Leadership.
• Proactive, results-driven and highly adaptable attitude, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strategic mentality that is naturally curious and is consistently looking for news ways of developing business in order to drive growth.
• Passionate about technology and obsessed over the best customer experience, combining attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and expand business relationships with established and prospective partners, generating increased awareness and engagement of our Video initiatives in the region.
• Take a data-led approach to optimise performance and growth across all of Apple’s Video initiatives including Apple TV, Channels, 3rd party App-based services and transactional.
• Split focus between market analysis, performance analysis, commercial initiatives, partner management and editorial initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with multiple functions to create and develop opportunities for Video within the wider Apple ecosystem.
• Cultivate an Apple approach to doing business, as well as the Apple tone of voice and branding across all Video initiatives in the market, with an emphasis on most relevant cultural moments and local releases.
