The Advanced Practice Manager is accountable for ensuring the delivery of consistently high-quality patient care and supporting the development of the AMC Program for Substance Use and Addiction Services (PSAS) advanced practice staff. Drawing on a deep understanding of clinical addiction care and PSAS practices and policies, the advanced practice manager will continually assess clinical issues including scope of practice guidelines and practice protocols. This role works collaboratively with PSAS’s administrative, nursing, and physician leaders, as well as, with each advanced practitioner. S/he will lead and participate in team building, scheduling, ensuring clinical coverage, quality improvement, and staff development. S/he will establish and maintain a professional practice model that supports high quality, efficient care for patients and families in an environment that fosters professional mentorship, collaboration, and support. This role reports to the APP Director for Hospital Medicine and will collaborate with the clinical and administrative leadership of PSAS, as well as receive guidance and support from the Chief APP Officer, as well as collaborate with the Associate Chief Nurse for Medicine. Provides direct management to typically a small to medium-sized team of advanced practice providers or other allied health professionals while continuing to spend the majority of time providing direct patient care as a Nurse Practitioner.
