The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 year OR RN experience. 1-2 years leadership experience preferred. Being part of the largest division within the department of surgery brings a wide range of innovative surgeries, research, and clinical excellence. The General Surgery team includes our growing abdominal transplant program, gastrointestinal, endocrine, hepatobiliary, oncology, trauma/emergency, bariatric, colorectal, and robotic surgery. This collaborative team is an expert in highly complex operations and multiservice cases. Job Summary Summary Directs, plans, and coordinates the service activities and staffing performance of professional nursing and auxiliary nursing personnel in rendering quality patient care. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Nursing experience 2-3 years required
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree Nursing preferred
  • Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff onboarding, training, and education.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback for staff.
  • Ensures a positive work environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Coordinating unit activities with other hospital departments of the hospital.
  • Develops and implements staffing plans.
