Two Years of RN Experience Strongly Preferred (Med-Surg, Ambulatory, Inpatient) 1 Year of OB/GYN and/or Ambulatory Experience Preferred Epic experience preferred. About the Staff Nurse Role and Gynecology Clinic The Gynecology Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital has over 25 providers and see approximately 2000 patients per month. We are mainly a consultative practice that see patients with gynecology complications. Our specialty clinics include Vulvar Clinic, Colposcopy Clinic, Resident Clinic, Family Planning, Minimally Invasive Gynecological surgery and Urogynecology. Our RNs work closely with MDs and APPs (NP).

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required
  • Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Two Years of RN Experience Strongly Preferred (Med-Surg, Ambulatory, Inpatient)
  • 1 Year of OB/GYN and/or Ambulatory Experience Preferred
  • Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures proficient, conscientious nursing care.
  • Responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of patients.
  • Collaborates with the primary physician, members of the patient care team, support staff and nurse manager to achieve efficient patient outcomes.
  • Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  • Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to and from other health team members.
  • Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities for the unit.
  • Participates in teaching, education and directs all nursing personnel for whom she/he is responsible if applicable.
  • Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
