About The Position

Summit Health is seeking a licensed Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work collaboratively with its Urgent Care Department in a per diem role. The position is in a collaborative, dynamic, physician-led practice environment focused on integrated, multidisciplinary, patient-centered care. The clinician will provide care to pediatric and adult patients, evaluate and treat urgent care concerns, perform procedures, interpret diagnostic results, educate patients, coordinate follow-up care, and work with physicians and support staff to support efficient patient flow.

Requirements

Current New York or Connecticut state license.
Board certification.
Experience treating both pediatric and adult populations.
Solid decision-making, analytical, time-management, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Identify patients’ chief complaints and issues.
Obtain detailed and accurate patient histories.
Perform physical examinations.
Perform procedures, including but not limited to suturing, splinting, and abscess draining.
Interpret diagnostic and other test results, including EKGs, X-rays, and lab work.
Communicate with and educate patients.
Formulate treatment plans and arrange follow-up care as needed.
Work closely with physicians and support staff to ensure efficiency and proper patient flow.
